Macy - the Cheetah

Macy starred in a class play titled, "The Cheetah and the Sloth" -she played the part of the Cheetah...the cutest Cheetah I've ever seen...Her grandma and I just wanted to eat her up!!!! She came up with her own costume. A trip to Goodwill and those pants were sitting there waiting for her! Macy has had a fantastic 2nd grade year, we have watched her bloom and grow so much!

Demolition!

It looks like such a mess that you probably won't believe me when I say this is an answered prayer...yes, my heart was praying for this (even the mess). I am a farmhouse girl...I grew up in one, so that is my excuse for not wanting to change my ways. Luckily, I have an awesome husband whom is completely, without a doubt up for the tasks that the purchase of this farmhouse will require! Closing on the property will not be until Mid-May, however we've been allowed to start "demolition". We are uncovering much character through removing paneling and tile ceilings. Doorways keep popping out! High doorways and you can see where the old trim used to be...check it out! This is what we've been up to in our spare time! The first picture is before we started, the second is the work in-progress!
This is a backdoor...check out the transom above that was covered...
We unveiled what used to be pocket doors...
Don't laugh! My kitchen!!!!! YES, a mess and some structural things need to be done in the ceiling...
More pictures:
Above are two doors that were covered!
Fun, Fun!! A lot of work, but worth it!!!
Stay tuned....I am so giddy!

A Super Exciting Day....

Knowingly, knowing that we serve a Faithful God...A God whom gives His people the desires of their hearts...Whom provides for our every need and hears our prayers...I cannot say that I am surprised by our exciting day yesterday...However, with the heaviness that we were carrying not knowing what would happen for our housing it is pure relief and joy to say that God officially showed us just what we were looking for! Yesterday (at an auction) Josh purchased a property that we will be calling "home"...a 5 bedroom, 2 story farmhouse on 11 acres...he cannot quit smiling! Best of all (besides that we can't quit smiling), it was a super decent price (only one other bidder, whom quickly backed off!), it is on a 1/2 mile driveway lane off the highway, 1/4 mile from the town of Bloomfield where the kids are in school and such activities (yes, the driveway is longer than the highway trip into town..SWEET!) Josh figured that we are saving the kids 4000 hours a piece in bus time over the next 10 years and instructed them each to find a new hobby with their new found time!!! We are so excited for the chickens and the dog (yes, it is possible to be excited to show animals their new life!). Noelle wanted to be the first to tell the dog!! The kids are going to scream when they see their HUGE rooms! (The 3 girls share one now...they will be in shock! Little Noelle might get lost in hers!) This is a square, sturdy old house built in 1900...it will need some renovations, I'm pretty sure we know just where to get the building materials!

So, we wrapped up the day yesterday with a "Thank You, Lord", a high five, and a good nights sleep!!

A special Thank you to those of you praying with us along this journey!!

Stay tuned....

All I know...

OK-I'm kind of a sap...I just gotta have a song to go with this time of our life.
I just love to worship!

Their feet are hot!

The girls could not handle 85 degree weather on Sunday. They said they needed to "relax with their feet in water"...which of course turned into swimsuits and a water fight. The weather has been awesome!

Life as we know it....

I have been a horrible blogger, there is a lot going on here. Along with business, baseball starting up for kids, preparing for an Easter drama at church, spring stuf like yard mowing and normal stuf like housework and endless food preparations in the kitchen...life as we know it is likely to about change with our "home" going up for auction on May 1st. With Great Grandma's passing in March her estate will settle through an auction, including her farm where we have lived for exactly 3 years on March 31st! This is "home" and no doors seems to be opening up for us for another "home"....we are searching, searching, weighing options and shaking our heads at God working on our hearts. Yes, the Bible says not to be anxious...but it is hard to not be anxious when a family of 6 needs to move. Yes, the Bible says not to worry...well, it is difficult to not worry when there is a deadline (an auction coming!) and we have to be the highest bidder in order to stay "home". The Bible says not to fear, it is difficult....it has been a very trying time for us. I'm being honest. God is faithful. We know HE is faithful. We do Trust HIM. HE is doing a mighty work in us and making us stronger. Building our character and our perserverence.

So, just a few pictures of life as we know it. We are extremely blessed to call this "home". It has been a picture, perfect life for the kids. As God closes doors, we fully trust that HE opens another. The waiting is difficult, but our reliance on HIM is at an all time high--I'd say HE has us just where HE wants us!!
