Halloween Costumes

The kids had a good time trick or treating last night. It was a little hectic at first and by the second house noone was fully costumed and everyone was on a sugar high. Luckily, our kids are easy to please. We only stopped at 5 houses...all family members who unloaded their candy onto us because we would be one of their few trick or treaters.

Caden the Darth Vader

Macy the NICE Witch

Julia the Pink Fairy

Noelle the Pumpkin...who insisted that book stay in her sack and she get it out to read in the car.

What fun!

Not Dancing to Hannah Today....

Poor Baby...Julia has a 104 temp today. This is how she watched her favorite Hannah movie today. No pink dress and no dancing! I did let her watch it twice in a row--you can't blame me--look at those sad eyes! A lot of kids around here have high fevers right now. I was hoping the bug would pass by our house, but guess not!!

Outside, After School

The kids played outside together after school. Macy insisted that I take some Fall pictures.

Of course, the boy has to get the mower out to mow the leaves we were raking. He went really slow and watched them chop into fine pieces.

Macy decorated the dogs house.

Noelle was shoveling leaves and would not let go of the shovel.

These two actually played together really well. They even wanted their pictures taken together. At the present moment, however, they are fighting!

Headbands

We shopped with Grandma Karla on Friday. She treated the girls to a pack of girly headbands. They have been a great source of entertainment over the weekend.
One just isn't enough!

They were even used as belts.

And Dad even got to wear headbands!

New Baby....

Sorry I don't have pictures...but my brother Levi and his wife had their second baby girl last week. Her name is Elyse Mary, and she is very precious. The labor went super fast...she was born only 15 minutes after they arrived at the hospital and the cord was around her neck, there was a moment of fear as she was delivered the color purple but it was very shortly that the cord was loosened and she is just fine!! PTL!

Consider Pure JOY

"The fruit of the Spirit is Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control. Against such things there is no law." Gal 22-23

I am currently involved in a Wednesday night Beth Moore Bible Study. I have been meditating on the fruits of the spirit...first being Love and now Joy. God is revealing to me how to live a more spirit-filled life!

Luke 10:17-20 amazes me....72 return from their mission and say to God, "Lord, even demons submit to us in your name!" He replies to them, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."

WOW! Do I rejoice JUST BECAUSE my name is written in the Book of Life?!
God says that our salvation is enough! Enough of a reason to rejoice!

"Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again, Rejoice." Phil 4:4

Half Marathon

My sister and I ran a Des Moines half marathon(13.1m) today. She was suffering from bronchitus and a double ear infection and at mile 9 I suffered some major knee pain, despite our ailments we ended up finishing together in a decent time. It was a cold, but gorgeous run! My sister is a go-getter and is so much fun to run with!
Thanks to my hubby for holding down the fort at home!! He had the hard job :)
Us at the finish line!!

Little Princesses

The little girls found Macy's princess dress-up chest!
It is a jackpot to them!

Go Panthers!

We took Caden and Macy to visit Cedar Falls this weekend. Oh Boy...did they have a ball! Panther game, a night in a hotel, and seeing lots of friends at Orchard Hill Church made the weekend a HUGE success! Caden says that he WILL be a Panther someday!

Julia has Style!

Julia loves clothes! Everything from shoes to purses...she is actually really fun to take shopping already at age 3! Sometimes she is on outfit #6 by noon. Here are a couple examples of what she comes up with.

Proud on Homecoming!

Caden and Macy were so proud to were their Mustang shirts to school on Homecoming Friday! Caden looks a little tired...it is 7:00 AM and they are ready for the day!
