A Get Together

Six girls that Josh graduated high school with got together last weekend and invited him to join the party (of course, they all have husband's and families). There were a TON of kids...over 20 kids for sure I never got an official count. The house we were at was not prepared for that, there were no toys...just a tree to climb, a big yard to run, and lots of food. We are glad to live here and get to be apart of gatherings like this. I just feel like one of them, eventhough I did not grow up here.
Macy had a ball with these girls. It is neat to see her silly with girls that she will probably grow up with. She happened to be wearing a Class of '22 shirt in the middle of the crew! (makes me feel OLD! WHAT, 2022!)

All the kids, minus some boys-whom we could not get to stand still because of all the pop they had to drink! (including my son!)

In Memory of Chief

Our big dog Chief got hit on our really busy gravel road yesterday. We are very sad. Caden picked him out as a puppy and had been his sidekick for the past five years. Chief was such a good dog! He loved to chase birds, swim, and wrestle with Caden. He loved attention from the kids and was always at our feet ready to play as soon as we step out the door. Occasionally, too bad, he had fun chasing a car or truck. Lots of big trucks travel our road, so he chased one to many! We miss ya, Ol'Buddy!

What is she doing?

I looked out the window and saw Noelle with a down spout thrown over her shoulder.
Maybe she needs a few more toys, I don't know...but I thought I'd take a picture before ruining her fun.

I Want Everyone to Know!

Sorry the video doesn't completely fit onto the screen. This song came on the radio this morning when I was comtemplating some difficult things. I want everyone to know...Our God is Greater...Our God is Stronger...Nothing can stand against Him...

Baseball

Caden played two baseball games on Saturday to make up for the rainy week we had last week. He was a little disheartened that they lost both games, but I think all the boys had fun and learned some things. He had a few good hits and played catcher for both games. Coach Josh had fun too and learned some things about coaching!

Its a Bumblebee!

Macy and her ball cap

Macy wears this Cardinals cap to school everyday (like her big bro.). She says that other kids in her class are starting to wear caps now also. Such a trend setter!

Laying Low

The boys watch Star Wars on the computer (our 6 month old TV had to be sent off to be fixed -- we don't recommend anyone buy an RCA). Josh is on the recovery end of a week long nasty virus. A fever, no appetite, head/neck pain has had him wiped out for an entire week. He has watched several movies on the computer. What's the chance - the week he doesn't leave the couch the TV goes black. I guess the Lord always has a way to show us what is really important! We are thankful for time to lay low as a family. We take health and each other for granted so easily.

The girls decided to paint their nails. Macy says, "Mom, I am actually doing something GIRLY!". The younger girls eat it up when Macy takes charge of an activity with them.

Boys

Girls

Looking back over the past week, we definately see Gods hand at work in our household and prayers answered. With a very contagious virus in the house, 5 of us have remained healthy, the business has run as usual without Josh's presence, several have stepped up to the plate to care for our kids when we've needed it. I have been so stretched by taking care of my sick hubby and dealing with the rest of the household, that being in the Word fell off of my priority list the whole last week. I realized this on Saturday and opened up my Bible and this is what I read..."Stand in Awe of God" (Ecc. 5:7). Eventhough at the time it didn't seem to apply to me, it has stuck with me. Today as I have a feeling of "Whew" we made it through that and my Josh's health is being restored back to normal, I can see why I was told to Stand in Awe of HIM! HE is our awesome God...a God of healing, comfort, peace, joy, faithfulness, love..etc...HE is worthy of all our praise!

A Lesson in Sheep Shearin'

The sheep farmers sheared their sheep this morning out in the barn. We loved watching!

They will sell this beautiful wool. It looked so soft-I was hoping to touch a piece. Josh says there are probably some scrapes out on the ground I can get my hands on. But I don't want the dirty pieces, I want that nice, soft white wool that is under the dirty layer.

Generations of Moms

Beautiful! All generations of women are beautiful!

Macy - The Dog!

"Macy time" on her day off of school consisted of painting dogs on our faces. She is a dalmatian dog in this picture.

A friend stopped by so Macy got to paint the face of her friend, Adrie.

Julia wanted to do her own face.

It isn't Macy/Mommy time unless Mom joins in on the action. So, I became a brown lab dog...Macy says. Notice I even have a collar painted on my neck. The things we'll do for our kids!

Macy is a huge dog lover. She says she will be a pet shop owner when she grows up.

Saturday Morning Play

I love it when they each do their own thing happily in close quarters!
I am a mom all about free play! I love Saturday mornings, because it is our chocolate chip waffle breakfast day (their favorite!) and hangout time!

Hanging out with Jack and Ben

Josh's cousin Kristen who lives in Janesville, WI was in town for a funeral. I kept her kids so that she could attend the funeral childless. I kept Macy home for the day, because 1)I just wanted some Macy time 2)only a month of Kindergarten left and she has hardly missed a day 3)she slept in till 8:30 w/out a budge and had a slight cold 4)Jack (her 2nd cousin) was visiting and they are the same age...explain all of that to the school HA! Anyhow, we played with Jack age 5 and Ben age 18 mo. for the morning. Noelle was not happy having a younger child around. She kept very close tabs on him and had a crying fit if I held him. We played, played, and played...and ate popsicles!
